Founder / Executive Director- Roney Eford
Roney Eford hails from New York City and attended Archbishop Molloy High School in Queens, New York for a year. He then graduated from the prestigious Berkshire School. He proceeded onto college at Marquette University where he played basketball there. Among his accomplishments:
Second all-time in games played (125)
1,471 points (11th all-time); with 697 rebounds, one of only 16 Marquette players ever to have 1000 points/500 rebounds in a career
Ninth all-time in 3-point goals (150) and 7th in 3-point shooting at 38.5%
Great Midwest Conference Newcomer of the Year (1993)
Street and Smith's 5th team All-Freshman All-American
After the conclusion of his college career he played for various NBA summer league teams. He went on to play eight years internationally in Europe and Asia. Consequently, he is conversational in German, Spanish, and in Japanese. He has held the title of owner, president, general manager, and head coach with numerous minor league sporting teams over the years. He has successfully run his own basketball academy for the past 5 years. He is also currently a school teacher. Additionally, he has been involved with several non profit organizations over the years.
Roney holds a B.A. in Communications from Marquette University ('96) where he was a student-athlete. He has over 11 years experience coaching, teaching and youth development experience nationally and internationally. He has a passion to assist youths to develop into positive role models and become productive citizens of society. Thus, this is the reason for the implementation and emergence of Pinnacles for Youth.
